This is "a must" in every Bo Cronqvist collection. Here we find excellent design, perfect balance between light and shadow and as always - room for your own thoughts. The artist once rented a small simple room in Italy, La Speza. The room was dark with only one window, and outside the light and heat were intense. The bowl with oranges lightens up the inside of the room.

Red shoe

As you can see this is a red shoe. The artist specifically asked us to point out that this shoe belongs to his wife and nobody else. He once had some customers (a married couple) at his studio looking for a present for a male friend. The husband thought that the "Red shoe" was the perfect present for their friend - the wife strongly disagreed and said that the shoe was sexism at its worst. A fight followed.

In Bo Cronqvist's art we often find themes from the sea and life by the sea. Here we have a picture of a Danish wooden boat the artist once owned. He and his fiends used to sail far out to the sea - so far that they could not see the land anymore. The thrill came from trying to find back to the same spot they started from without modern navigation equipment.
