Mr Alain Soucasse  (1951)
Information about the artist

Alain Soucasse is born in 1951 in the south of France. He studied at the Ecole des Beaux arts in Aix en Provence. Before he became a full time artist he worked with restoration of old stained glass in the worlds oldest cathedrals. He has lived 8 years in Sweden were he made his break-though as an artist. In 1981 he returned to the south of France again. Alain Soucasse is an artist and printmaker. He has designed watches, made big sculptures and very beautiful art prints. Colorful, superbly designed and excellently prepared colour etchings is his trademark. His prints are often collages and the different elements are sown together by a thick tread. The paper is hand-made and of cotton, and the prints have a relief like surface.
