Gennady Vial is an excellent representative of the extremely high quality graphic arts tradition in the central and east Europe. His prints, many of which include as main theme a naked human body, are modern and romantic and at the same time surrealistic and nostalgic. Gennady Vial many times finds his inspiration from literature such as Tolstoj, Goethe and Tschechow but also from the mythology and religion.

Gennady Vial specializes in engraving and drawing and has produced many excellent Ex Libris works as well. He has participated in many international exhibitions since 1980 and has received many prizes and honorable mentions, and that one can easily understand as his art is outstanding in design and craftsmanship. Better etchings are hard to find.

Gennady Vial is born in 1958 in the village of Berjozovtsy near Minsk in Belarus, and he lives today in the city of Brest in Belarus. He works as a teacher at a children’s art school in the city of Brest.

Private and group exhibitions:

Gennady Vial has participated in many graphic art exhibitions in various countries such as: Belgium, Germany, Netherlands, Poland, Italy, Russia, Ukraine, France, Czech Republic and Turkey.

The artist has not concentrated on having many private exhibitions, but here are some of them:
