Shibam in the wadi of Hadramawt in Yemen is an ancient town and an UNESCO World Heritage Site. The tall mud-brick tower houses, which from a distance resemble skyscrapers, are the most characteristic feature of the architecture. They can be up to eight stories high.
This is a print from the series "Local Beauties" with which Rolf Weijburg started to work with years ago - and the work still continues.
